Test Valley Council Tax set to be Frozen

I'm pleased to report that at tonight's meeting, my Cabinet made the decision to freeze council tax for 2019/20.

The decision comes off the back of the positive performance of Test Valley Borough Council's Project Enterprise initiative, to increase income from investments. This increased income has successfully offset some of the reduction in central government funding, enabling us to avoid leaning on taxpayers to sustain our frontline services.

Due to sound financial management, our council tax remains one of the lowest in the country - and is £43 lower than the average in the rest of England.

Test Valley's Full Council will vote on our recommendation at the Budget meeting scheduled for the 25th February.
